Trees of the Wood have the greatest dignity

Technically, these aren't trees if the wood, but "volunteers" along a Greenway in a very urban setting.

























My walking continues and am anxious to see how the light will change, as well as the flora and fauna, along my regular route. Just above is my original photo and throughout are my various edits. Photoshop Express, Infinicam , instagram, photo studio, pic grunger and camera bag....among others!



















I snap pictures with my iPhone and still try to maintain a 20 minute walking mile. My husband has seen me along the way as he is driving by from his parents and asks questions like", What were you doing, peeking around in that guy 's shrubbery?".





















Well, I was trying to get a shot of the Cardinal. I missed it, he was shy.


















I don't recommend walking and editing photos, but I confess I do. Remember to be aware if your surroundings, ( people lurking in the shrubbery?Hopefully not!) Look both ways when crossing streets, and watch for uneven sidewalks.

Continuing my walking, blogging and photo-ing, along Morgan Ford and The River Des Peres Parkway. The iPhone is the best craft/art tool I have ever purchased. Just added a few more photo apps. Hey, a better use of $2, I'm missing a few craft magazines and scrapping paper, and less clutter in the house. ( Note: I said "less").

I'm up to 3+ miles, at least 5 times per week, in just over an hour ( not counting the photo ops, edit ops and posting ops.) Ok, sometimes it takes two hours. Hey, I'm soaking up the Vitamin D and getting exercise and missing a few NCIS reruns. So what.

Something interesting in an ordinary place

River Des Peres Parkway and Morgan Ford Road are indeed ordinary. I have learned along the journey to look for the places where beauty is hidden, places where God is at work, places you least expect both of those events. But they are there. We capture them in a glimpse, a moment. I love to capture them in a photo and well as my heart.

Meanwhile back at St.Markus Cemetery...
A second trip,earlier in the evening, just a week before the summer soltice/equinox ( which is it?)found interesting shadows being created on statues and grounds.

Set in Stone

Any walk along Morgan Ford Road will lead you to River Des Peres. New walkway/ bike/jogging trails have been added in recent years










































Work your way down the pathway to Gravois. You'll find St.Markus Cemetery. Saturday I crossed Gravois for the first time since starting my "walking program".


Wandering through the cemetery I discovered these unique tomb stones featuring photos "set in stone". The stones seemed to have been popular between 1924 - 1927.

walkabout on the southside

It's a walkabout on the Southside along River Des Peres and Morgan Ford Road. An exercise in , well, exercise, photography, art and blogging.


It's an exercise in making the ordinary interesting, and maybe sometimes extraordinary.


Also, an exercise in perseverance and patience, and perhaps goal setting.
